SAGA CHAMPS-ELYSÉES ILLUMINATIONS

Creating a buzz around the Champs-Elysées Christmas lights switch-on. Since 2015, Havas Events Paris has been assisting the Champs-Elysées Committee with this event, which is watched all around the world. A public ceremony which took place on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and a nearby cocktail party attended by the VIPs and guests of the Mayor and the Committee.

To support communication about this annual event, the lights are switched on by an iconic celebrity: in the previous 6 years, the honour has gone to Teddy Riner, Lily Rose Depp, Karl Lagerfeld, Ludivine Sagnier, Clara Luciani and Tahar Rahim.

The 2020 edition of the Illuminations was designed in a digital format in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. Thousands of viewers gathered on a digital platform where Louane, chosen to switch on the lights for 2020, and the guests of the Mayor inaugurated the festivities from a rooftop on the world’s most beautiful avenue.
