When the City of Paris is ready to host the world’s biggest sporting event!

To celebrate the transition to 2024, the year of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the City of Paris wished to invite all Parisians and French and foreign tourists to a grand celebration on December 31st at 6:00 PM on the most beautiful avenue in the world—the Champs-Élysées—with a focus on sports!

The festivities marking the transition to the Olympic and Paralympic era allowed over a million spectators to witness unprecedented artistic performances. The event featured a spectacular aerial show, exclusive DJ sets, and live performances by renowned artists. The evening concluded with a video mapping projection around Paris, highlighting the Olympic spirit and the city’s transformations, all projected onto the Arc de Triomphe. The traditional fireworks display added the final touch, illuminating the night sky and closing out the New Year’s celebration.

To make this first step of the Olympic year accessible to everyone, the City of Paris established an exclusive partnership with France Télévisions, which broadcasted the festivities live to 8 million viewers.
