PARIS AÉROPORT RUNWAY
When the renowned French couturier Jean-Charles de Castelbajac designed chic new uniforms for the Groupe ADP (the employees of Paris’s three airports), we decided that a real fashion show would be the most spectacular way to show them off to the Group and the world.
We reached for the sky, using the ingredients of a professional fashion show to present 112 elegant new looks. The Group’s headquarters near Charles de Gaulle airport provided a striking venue, where guests from inside and outside the company gathered to watch models pose on a circular podium and the stairways, too.
The original soundtrack was by Michel Gaubert, the fashion world’s leading sound director, who has decades of experiences working for the likes of Chanel and Dior. We also hired Sébastien Bertaud, dancer and choreographer for the Opéra national de Paris, to choreograph the show.
Three professional dancers coached the models on how to move. As for the models, we chose first-class talent to show off this collection: the Groupe ADP’s employees themselves. Seventy-five of the staff strutted their stuff in the new uniforms, to the delight of their colleagues in the audience. They represented 50 different jobs, from ticket agents to technical staff to medical crew, and wore the new looks with obvious delight. The event, the first of its kind, was an enormous source of pride for all involved.
The fashion show took place in March 2019, a couple of months before the collection made its debut on the airports’ actual runways. Thanks to it, ADP’s 2,800 employees were flying high with anticipation.
