Billed the “eighth wonder of the world”, the MSC Meraviglia is the latest in a new brand of cruise ship, delivering an extraordinary experience at sea. We knew its christening ceremony had to be as impressive as the ship itself, showing that MSC Cruises is a key industry actor and highlighting the company’s Mediterranean spirit and international scale.

The ship’s outstanding features include an exclusive collaboration with Le Cirque du Soleil, an amusement park, an outdoor water park, an innovative lounge with an ocean view, and digital technology connecting guests with staff.
To launch this beauty, we planned an exclusive event in Le Havre in June 2017, coinciding with the 500th anniversary of the port city. Celebrities such as singer Patrick Bruel, comedian Gad Elmaleh, and pop group Kids United showed up to wow a select audience of 2,000 media, local authorities and VIP guests from around the world. To cut the ribbon, the MSC Meraviglia’s godmother, Sophia Loren, topped off the event in true Mediterranean style.
